Barbara has written five books since she  retired from teaching students with physical disabilities. She is also a professional landscape photographer, with a large box of her unsold photos in her shed. She was a Music Major at Eastern Michigan University and began her music  career as a music director at her Catholic Church on campus. She has been entertaining ever since, playing guitar, synthesizer and trumpet and vocal harmonies with Sandra. She met Sandra while they were teachers and after they became close friends Barbara fearfully confided to Sandra that she is gay.  Sandra responded, “I don’t know if I’m gay, I just know I love you” and Barbara considers that as the luckiest day life. They have been “married” for thirty seven years and officially got married two years ago with about 100 enthusiastic friends and family giving them an enthusiastic standing ovation. That was the most joyous day of their lives.
